Behind Enemy Lines

I purchased and watched Behind Enemy Lines yesterday. It is a good movie I rented when it first came out and wanted to own it.

The thing I find striking about BEL is that it, in my personal opinion, points out the direct flaws and screw ups in peacekeeping missions and how the rest of the world views Americans. Everything from keeping our guys from doing actual military duty. In the case of the movie, making our guys go along a preconceived recon route that they can't deviate from and do. To the part where the French NATO commander tells them the life of one U.S. pilot is worth losing compared to a shaky peace treaty. It is Hollywood-ized but it also hits several nails on the head to the point that you think it is something that could happen on your run-of-the-mil Peacekeeping operation. (In fact it is loosely based on Scott O'Grady's experience)

So if you are bored and want a interesting movie to mull over, Behind Enemy Lines is worth a look.
